Who we are
OpenCo is comprised of professional and driven individuals with experience in multidisciplinary backgrounds. Our members are software engineers, artists, educators and mathematicians with a common interest for problem-solving. Incorporating strategy, philosophy and design, OpenCo professionals are trained to deliver as well as communicate information technology for corporate and private needs. Alexander Somma
Founder of OpenCo
Alexander Somma began his career in IT at the impressive age of 18. A knowledgeable, self-starting entrepreneur, for the past 13 years he has worked for companies of various sizes, and also launched and managed his own companies. Before even having obtained his DEC in Digital Sytems from Vanier College, he had started his first company, Paradox Factory, in 1998, a web development firm geared towards media rich sites.
After graduating, he went on to study at both Dawson and Concordia, majoring in Computer Sciences at the latter, all the while developing on-the-job IT skills in a wide variety of areas such as software development, IT security, systems administration and support, as well as IT project management.
Among his more recent consultancies are Education Technology Analyst in the Montreal private school sector, Senior Software Engineer and Lead QA and Security Analyst for Etsy Inc., and Consulting IT Manager for the Best Western Hotel Europa. A quick learner, his extensive experience and know-how led him to launch his latest initiative, OpenCo - a development firm specializing in web-based development and solutions.
Isabelle Plante
Creative Director
Isabelle Plante began her entrepreneurial career in 1998 as a creative director at the budding age of 18, when she formed a classical string quartet (Quatuor Quatre Saisons), which to this day, performs at public and private venues. Isabelle is known for original thinking and targeted computer-based audio-visual communications that deliver clear results for clients. As creative director for OpenCo, Isabelle is responsible for design, vision and direction of OpenCo services.

Placing a high emphasis on user experience, our web development methodology focuses on: information gathering, planning, designing, development, testing and delivery. Projects
Our latest projects focus on the integration of virtual environments with the world around us. Utilizing cutting-edge design, we have developed three soon-to-be released applications. They enable design and manufacturing of physical objects using CadCam, dynamic gestural interfaces, and augmentation of reality with rich data.
